SRS LOW COST MONITOR 2009 LIBRARY COPY
At over 200 pages, the eighth edition of this popular report is the most comprehensive review of low-cost operations across Europe yet. It is packed with information about every aspect of this important sector of commercial aviation and an indispensable guide for anyone involved in the industry. Please see below for a brief description of the chapters contained within “The Low Cost Monitor 2009” :
European Market Overview
A summary of low-cost operations across Europe showing trends in capacity over the last seven years. The section features airline, country and airport seat capacity trends identifying where growth has occurred and how much of it can be attributed to LCCs.
Focus on Eastern Europe
Low-cost carriers have continued to expand into Eastern Europe through the introduction of new inbound services from existing airports as well as more aircraft being based at airports throughout the region. This chapter analyses the development of the Eastern European market highlighting the key airports and airlines serving the region and the areas of high growth.
Ancillary Revenues
With increased low-cost competition resulting in lower passenger yields carriers have focused on ancillary products to try and increase revenues. This chapter analyses the many types of ancillary products that have been introduced and compares how these have been implemented at the major low-cost carriers.
Country Monitor
The Country Monitor analyses low-cost service across 20 major European countries where LCC service exists. For each country we examine the growth of LCCs by year versus conventional carriers, the share of departures by LCC, LCC departures by destination and LCC departures by destination country.
Airport Monitor
We review LCC operations at the top 50 LC airports in Europe. The capacity share by carrier as well as a list of destinations, operators and frequencies can all be studied with ease.
Airline Monitor
For each of the 25 major LCCs operating in Summer 2008 a unique and in-depth analysis is provided of their network and schedules as well as key facts and performance indicators (such as average frequency per aircraft), allowing benchmarking to be undertaken across the various operators.
